The yellow glow is from the lighting
I miss power failures. In India, as I pored over books during my school days I would heave a sigh of relief when the electric supply failed. It would be time for the Lemon shaped chimney lamp to come out of the cupboard. I would have fun with shadow play and would feed bits of paper (torn off the edges of textbooks) into the flame to amuse myself!

Your lighting here...really sets the mood... soft and mysterious...I also Like the lemon shaped lamp. :)
Nothing like burning textbooks! :) I like the loose line work. It gives that dimly lit feel.
You always have tons to say, so since Alina tagged me to post 7 things on any topic I want (which I did), now I'm tagging you to do the same.
beautiful lighting!
Come to NYC during the summer- the power goes out in the outer Burroughs for weeks at a time!
This used to happen when I was in college. I'm pretty sure it was because I was broke though. This is excellent work.
i love the story and the way you've captured values in your drawing.
That was an excellent drawing! I could visulaise burning the edges of paper, since even I have done it in my younger days. I used to touch those ashes and see how they fall down and stop them only after realising the fingers turning black. By the way Arvindh, I have started sketching. You can see them soon in my blog.
Neat story to go along with your work! Thanks for sharing :)
Great work as usual. The lighting is amazing. It evokes a nostalgic feeling. Now with inverters, we can't relly enjoy power cuts like we used to when we were young.
A beautiful sepia glow!
Very nice work!!makes me feel warm.
Excellent one again Arvindh!! I love that light effect.
Nice mood!
