Sunset in LalBagh, Bangalore, India

11X16 inches
Oil on Hardboard
1999

I am submitting this painting for Illustration Friday. Dusk seems to draw a blanket over the lake as the egrets, cranes, dabchicks, and cormorants - among other inhabitants of lalbagh - prepare to call it a day and rest.

I like how the black is, well, black, but doesn't look flat or boring. Wish there was a larger size to view!

Thank you for the comment, btw. :)

Oh! This is so beautifully atmospheric. It makes me want to float into the painting - the gorgeous colors of the sunste are wonderfully set off by the silhouetted trees. Wonderful painting:>

Lovely painting, I especially like the sky, its often misunderstood how light the sky can be during a sunset

I like the contrast of the dark silhoutte with the sky. So much good work, just waiting to be scanned eh :).
