Veenai Jayanthi's performance was one of the best concerts I have ever attended. To learn more about this talented and beautiful musician please visit her website. You can buy her music on itunes (among other legal sites).
This sketch is one among several that I made at the Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana 2007.

Nice work!
beautiful sketches, thankyou for your lovely comment.
Wonderful!
I will certainly check her out. I've seen Shujaat Khan play with Zakir Hussain. I love the sitar (although I'm a sucker for tablas).
I agree with alina chau - it looks very peaceful. I think it's reflecting the music? I like your left-hand drawings too, I might try that myself.
Thanks for visiting my blog!
delicate and sensitive sketching...lovely.
nice drawing. i love the sepia tone!
very expressive sketches, arvindh.
nice sketch!
I like your work at large, and that peculiar background red colouring...
...my fav indisn music is hariprasad chuarasiya, fopm Uttar Pradesh...maybe ypu know him! tnx for your comment
i just love your musician portraits!
I am very impressed with this art work.
I also very much like Jayanthi's music.....I would love to hear the instrument just being played acoustically.....like her mentor Ballachander played...you then get more of the colour of the instrument....do you know any of her completely acoustic recordings?
